What’s on at TEARS Animal Rescue this weekend: 25 & 26 April 2026

Saturday, 25 April 2026, is Kennel Open Day at TEARS Animal Rescue’s premises in Lekkerwater Road, Sunnydale, on the way to Kommetjie. The kennels are currently at capacity, so TEARS cannot accept any new animals that may need help or shelter. Whenever an animal is adopted, not only does that save the life of that dog, but it also opens up a spot in the kennel for another dog to receive the care it needs. With winter approaching, the many dogs living on the street struggle even more to stay alive in the rain and cold. Now is a great time to pop into the kennels, maybe armed with a warm fleece blanket to gift to one of the dogs in need and to have a look at our handsome, loving, beautiful dogs, all looking for a caring home. Come find a furry friend to cuddle this winter! Remember, adopting a pet is a long-term commitment and one of the most rewarding things you can do.

Sunday, 26 April is TEARS Catapalooza Adoption Day, especially for everyone who loves cats. Come and visit all the different shapes, colours and sizes of cats and kittens ‘on show’ at TEARS Animal Rescue’s cat rescue, all looking for a loving home. As many of the kittens are much happier and more confident staying with their brother or sisters, TEARS is offering a two-for-one deal: pay one adoption fee and get two kittens. Cats have all sorts of different personalities, from docile to energetic, and chilled to those that rule the roost. Find the perfect cat for you and your family this Sunday at TEARS.
